John specializes in treating mood and anxiety disorders utilizing a trauma-informed lens. He is fully trained in EMDR therapy and draws on a wide range of evidence-based approaches including CBT, IFS and other modalities.
John's ideal clients are individuals with ages ranging from fourteen years old to older adults. He loves working with clients with relational distress, painful past experiences and trauma, addiction, or current stressors that are hard to navigate. His favorite part of counseling is “helping clients to see their strengths more clearly and heal.”
John has also been formally trained as a Forest Therapy Guide from the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. He uses his training to help equip clients with mindfulness and relaxation techniques and gain a deeper appreciation of nature and beauty.
John has a background in classical guitar and loves playing live solo and in bands and at home with his family. He loves to spend time in the woods daily and enjoys hiking and running.
