About David
David has been practicing as a mental health clinician full-time for the past 10 years and has held his license for the past 15. He describes his counseling style as “comfortable, engaging, and client-centered.” David loves for his clients to feel a sense of ownership in their counseling. “I love for my clients to know why they’re there and that they’re working on something, and want them to know that they’ll be out of here someday!” Counseling with David is intentional and goal-driven.
David’s ideal clients are men, ages 10-30, and he loves doing grief work. His favorite part about counseling is “helping young men be honest about their emotions.”
David specializes in working with men in grief, trauma recovery, and suicide prevention, but also wants clients to know that he feels comfortable working with anything that’s brought before him. “I’d never turn anyone away.” He is trained in EMDR therapy and utilizes it to help heal trauma symptoms.
David recently started a young men’s “Authentic Masculinity” group, and is interested in continuing to develop avenues for young men to connect, heal and grow.
David has a background in public speaking and music and has been active in church youth ministry in the past. In his personal life, he refs for high school football, enjoys watching sports (go Browns and Buckeyes!), enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar and reading.
